Biography of Daphne Baxter
|
|
|
Daphne Baxter received her formal art training at Hornsey School
of Art in London, England and for a time worked in London as a
commercial artist.
After marriage and moving to Suffolk her interest in farming
related subjects and in particular wildlife and birds was
sufficiently stimulated to cause her to specialise in these areas.
Now living in a picture-postcard country cottage on the edge of a
small Hertfordshire village, and being surrounded by her large
garden and woodlands, has given Daphne the opportunity to study and
paint birds and animals in their natural environment.
Her paintings have been exhibited in The Mall Galleries and
Harrods, both of which are in London. She has also exhibited
in the Home Counties in Hatfield House and Grosvenor Galleries in
Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Her work has been widely published
both in the UK and abroad.
